Why It's Needed...Now

There has been accelerated growth of stress, anxiety and depression among teens. In 2023, a CDC survey revealed that nearly 40% of high school students experienced persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness, marking a sharp increase over the last decade.

The research supports what parents already know. Over a quarter of US parents report a decline in their children's mental health, as well as increased behavioral problems.

Psychologists describe this period, especially since 2010, as a "mental health crises" - fueled by social media, screen time, societal pressures and other factors.

While not all contributing factors are preventable, Social Ease Works is designed to catch concerns upstream.  We help kids develop social self-confidence and resilience before potential issues escalate.

"Social Ease Works has been such a valuable resource for our family, helping reinforce skills like manners, conflict resolution and overall self-confidence.  We can't speak highly enough of the program and of the team!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this therapy?

No. This is fitness training for key people skills - proactive, practical , and confidence-building. Curriculum is built on an evidence-based approach, refined by Sara's firsthand experience as a child / teen therapist for over 25 years.

What kinds of young people benefit here?

Kids and young teens who are confident or reserved, and are able to participate in a group setting.

It's coming. The Flexible Teaching series will be offered starting late fall / early winter. This will serve neuro-divergent learners in grades 3-5, and be led by experienced teachers with assistance by young adults in related training.

What if we cannot make a session or two?

No problem. For planned misses, you can pay for 4 or 5 sessions, versus all 6.

Do parents attend?

This is for kids and middle-schoolers. Parents are kept in the loop with group progress reports and a wrap-up after the series ends.

How big are the groups?

Each group is limited to 12 young people, plus the facilitator and one assistant. The small group format keeps the energy personal and engaging, and is great for learning.

It helps them understand others and that their challenges are not unique."

"I’ve watched my daughter walk right up and introduce herself to new peers- confidently and with a smile. Before Social Ease, she would have never proactively reached out to other kids like that. She enjoyed the classes, and it’s been amazing to see that joy turn into genuine social confidence."
